Sea Shell

This project was cut on the Eclipse scrollsaw. The first project made with this saw that I purchased at the Pontiac Picnic 2002.

DSCN0004.JPG (147956 bytes) The work area I use for marquetry. I have all the needed supplies right here on handy.
DSCN0001.JPG (93047 bytes) This is the project all cut and taped from the back with masking tape. I used the regular painter tape with no problems on this project. If the wood grain was more brittle I would have used the blue painter tape.
DSCN0005.JPG (81802 bytes) This is the front side with the perforated veneer tape in place. The tape is applied one piece at a time, then the brush is used to work it into the wood. This layer of tape stays on during the gluing process. After the project has been glued to the backing this face will be sanded  to remove the tape. With this tape in place, the masking tape on the back side can be removed.
