Floor Model Saws
This is a Delta - Rockwell that I purchased at a Woodsmith tool swap in 1998. Turned out the guy that had it lived about 10 blocks from me and stopped here at times, but just never thought to ask if I wanted to buy it before he took it to the swap. In the 50's and 60's this was considered the best saw available.
This saw is a Vega, made in the 60's I think. I purchased it from a fellow that had just rebuilt it. The arm is removable so a saber saw type blade can be clamped into it with no upper support, giving you an unlimited throat depth.
The " Fretmaster is currently built in Missouri. It has the looks of a homemade saw, but is factory built to specifications. This saw sits low so that you would sit on a standard chair to saw from.
This is an original Excalibar . It is S. N. # 14 of the first saws ever made by Excalibar for Tom Summerville. There were only 25 or 50 of these units made. The most unusual thing about this saw is that it is a parallel arm saw. Now we know Excalibar as making the parallel link arm saw like the Dewalt.
This is a U Build kit saw. I also have all of the parts for the wood lathe kit sitting on top of the saw.
An old Atlas
Shopsmith that went to a Shopsmith multi tool setup.
Another old Craftsman
Old Delta with a stand I have not seen before. The lever in the center base drops the feet down so the wheels come off the floor.
My newest addition, a line shaft drive saw, lathe. table saw combo. Go here for a photo album |
